Roger Reese – Port of Galveston
Rodger Rees, Galveston Wharves Port Director and CEO, oversees a public maritime entity that generated more than $52 million in revenues in 2019, employs nearly 100 employees, and has budgeted more than $246 million in capital projects.
Since Rees took the helm in January 2018, the Port of Galveston has increased net profits, developed and implemented a 20-year Strategic Master Plan, and signed a $110 million contract with Royal Caribbean to build a third cruise terminal complex at the Port.
Rees previously served as Deputy Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer for Port Canaveral, the world’s second-busiest cruise port. He was responsible for managing and safeguarding the Port’s financial assets, as well as all financial functions.
Rees is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of executive management in private and public arenas.
